In July 2008, in Geneva enacted a strict smoking ban. After objections from the Federal Court lifted the ban in September 2008 again. Presumably, Geneva ultimately accept the new federal law that allows smoking room served.
The current situation on the ground looks like that is allowed to smoke in many restaurants. If no ashtrays on the table, ask the staff for it. Interestingly for cigar smokers: may in many hotel bars smoking again:
the Hotel Beau-Rivage is the sea-side room of the Atrium bar for smokers. The Zigarrenfumoir the Hotel de la Paix is still in operation. And in the Mirror Bar Swissôtel Métropole may be lit the cigar from 18 clock. Only the Palace Hilton (photo), in which the Zigarrengeschät Gerard is decidedly downward turn, was declared a no-smoking zone. Without fire, it is also here, reveals how the modern fireplace in the background.
